2.Wedding held in coffin: 

It sounds like scary!!

While many couple believe that wedding is a wonderful moment when couple commence to live a new and happy life together. However, recently many Thai couple come up with a unique idea that is holding their wedding in a coffin. They believe this wedding represent a good luck, a lifelong marriage, an eternal love.

On the fourteenth of February, 2015. There 10 weddings celebrated in a pagoda in suburban Bangkok. The picture below is one of them.

From the picture, During this special wedding, Monks will conduct the ceremony like ritual in a traditional funeral. Both the bride and the groom lie in a pink coffin with a bunch of flowers in front of their chest, and make a vow "will not be separated".

Then Monks will cover the coffin with a white large cloth and end up with blessing the young couple's marriage, finally uncover the cloth. This considered as a good start for the young couple's matrimony.

Meaning: It is believed that wedding held in the coffin represents eternal love. They will lead a permanent and happy matrimony in the whole life. this ritual concurrently remind young couples of Buddhist philosophy that "Nothing lasts forever" so the newly-weds need to respect and cherish each other.
